Land of Dreams - Original Watercolor and Ink Painting

I wasn't born in California, but I had family here and I knew, for as long as I can remember, that this was where I belonged. All of my hopes and dreams landed in California. 

One of the many things I love about California is the fact that flowers bloom year-round. What flower is more symbolic of California than the poppy? I chose the darker variant to paint, the Red Chief, because I love the bold graphic feel of it against the tangle of green foliage.
