Wild Order - Original Watercolor and Ink Painting

I'm fascinated by the natural knotwork spiders weave. This piece was inspired by a run-in I had with a particularly large spider. I live in a wooded area so we get spiders inside pretty often. Late one night, I was shutting everything up, turned around, and hanging right in front of me was a white spider half the size of my fist.

So long as they leave me alone, I'm of the "live and let live" mindset, so I stepped back and it continued to the floor. I was pondering if I could catch it without hurting it to release it outside but as quickly as it was there, it was gone. I didn't see where it went and I haven't seen it since. 

I like to think it found its own way back out into the wild, and this painting is a wish that it found a nice spot it could spin its own home.
